In December 1984, a new model generation was presented in the mid-range series, which was to succeed the 123 series. In technical terms, the car was based closely on the compact class in order to achieve a significant reduction in fuel consumption through aerodynamic optimization and the use of weight-reducing materials. As early as 1989, a completely revised model range was presented at the Frankfurt Motor Show, which brought with it a number of changes: In addition to side flank protection strips, the exterior mirror housings painted in body color and the improved seats also represented an innovation. Last but not least, the W124 series was also popular as an emergency vehicle for the police. The miniature model of the 230 E saloon W 124 follows in these footsteps. The precision model, which is hand-assembled from over 126 individual parts, not only presents itself with a true-to-original representation of all interior details, but also with a white/green body and the lettering "POLIZEI" on the driver's and passenger's side. Six parts (doors, hood and tailgate) can also be opened on the 1:18 scale model. It is supplied in Mercedes-Benz Classic packaging. A screwdriver and a glove are included to enable theto remove the saloon without leaving fingerprints on the glazing or bodywork.
