The tailgate can be opened even when the rear bike rack is fitted and not loaded. Can be used without repeating rear lights and therefore also without power supply at the rear. Maximum load: 70 kg. Lockable.

Attention:
To open the tailgate, the bikes must be unloaded and the carrier flap secured against folding down. The holding mechanism of the open tailgate is not designed for the additional load of the loaded rear bike carrier. In order to be able to open the tailgate completely with the roof open on Marco Polo variants, the retaining arms of the rear bike carrier must be removed beforehand.

The bicycle carrier for tailgate is not approved by Mercedes-Benz AG for vehicles with code (W68) EASY-PACK tailgate.
Background: The automatic opening of the tailgate cannot be guaranteed even with an unloaded rear bicycle carrier and without manual assistance.
